Who....

Ok so most of this was just copied from my 'About' on my website. If I knew how to link it here I would be doing that but as I don't heres a copy and paste cause I don't want to retype.... if you have already read my 'About' feel free to scoot on down.

For those that don't know me.... my name is Rita Short (yes its everywhere on my website including the address so hard to imagine you don't know that already but still my web wizard, yes it's a thing, assures me I need to include this.... As long as I can remember I have been fascinated with capturing moments in time through photography. I worked for Tarrant County College as a videographer and photographer for 28 years covering anything and everything that happened to come my way. As a one woman band I have shot everything from events, to portraits, to elaborate studio dance photos, to plays, to dance concerts, to aerial photos, and finally fire, police and aviation training photos. But my passion is landscape and nature photography. Drawing inspiration from Ansel Adams, Georgia OKeefe and the magic of outdoors around us; color and light fascinate me and I'm forever striving to replicate what my eye can see into images my camera can immortalize. I believe this is my gift.

Why....

For years people have been telling me I need to write something and for years I kinda have through Facebook. So this is me getting my feet wet on a bigger scale. Its very much a work in progress so I hope you will bear with me while I figure things out.... because I'm a little OCD and I've already spent a year fixating on details.... #controlfreak #timetoletgo #yesineedhelp

What....

My life has elements of the ridiculous about it, always has. For years I have been entertaining people unwittingly through the crazy twists and turns it has taken. Here you will find my adventures and misadventures in travel through stories and photos. But more than just that my goal is bring travel to the untraveled. To share our tips, our hidden gems, and our what works and what doesn't. Hopefully you will leave entertained, enlightened and enriched. (yes I think that's clever) #hashtag (because the wizard tells me I need to insert these everywhere .... kind of like those bowls of candy and trays of hors d'oeuvres (yes I had to look the spelling up on that) that you put out at parties.... the stuff no one eats but you still feel obligated to put out .... even though you know you're going to have to throw them out or your cats are going to get into them and then you'll end up with undigested pieces of crudite and candy wrappers decorating your new furniture. Sure its festive but is it really accomplishing anything.... #futility #damnwizard #mycatswilleatanything #catsareaholes
